NCEA has joined with many private school advocates in the National Coalition for Parental Choice to urge the House of Representatives to vote for passage of HR 4901, the Scholarships for Results and Opportunity Reauthorization Act (SOAR ACT) of 2016. This bill will reauthorize and strengthen the highly successful D.C. Opportunity Scholarship Program (OSP) for the next five years.
For the past 12 years this program has been an educational lifeline for nearly 6,400 children from very low-income D.C. families who receive a scholarship to attend a school of the parent’s choice. It is due to expire this year and will need to be reauthorized to continue.
