The National Catholic Educational Association (NCEA) would like to express its ongoing gratitude for the member schools that were so generous during the Student to Student campaign, which raised over $675,000 toward hurricane relief for Catholic schools in Texas, Florida, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. In addition, California Catholic schools received a portion of those funds to be used for clean-up and restoration following the wildfires there.
Recently, NCEA President/CEO Dr. Thomas Burnford delivered a check for $203,066 to Catholic schools in Puerto Rico. The funds are helping schools that struggled to recover from severe damage while educating children in classrooms with no electricity. There has been a tremendous outpouring of thanks from the teachers and students who have benefited from the assistance. A number of the letters and cards are posted here, as well as photographs documenting Dr. Burnford’s visit to Puerto Rico.
