The U.S. Department of Education is currently soliciting information pertaining to content area for issuance of regulations and guidance for the implementation of the new ESSA law. Although the new law will not go into effect until the 2017-2018 school year consultation for equitable services will take place during the 2016-2017 school year. NCEA will be providing workshops, webinars and website updates to assist with planning for the transition. Meanwhile for the next school year, all of the requirements for providing services to our students and teachers under NCLB remain the same and private school officials should be holding consultation meetings with the LEA now so services may begin at the start of September 2016.
