This year, NCEA was delighted to present the Lead. Learn. Proclaim. Award to 32 outstanding recipients as we honor and thank them for their contributions and achievements on behalf of Catholic school education.

We celebrated dedicated teachers, mission-driven principals and presidents, visionary pastors and superintendents, and supportive boards and institutions of higher education. They are doing the crucial work of touching the hearts and minds of the young people in their care and imparting the good news of the Jesus’ merciful love.

At the heart of Catholic schools are great teachers, principals and superintendents. Tonight’s honorees represent the best of the best in Catholic school education. Their stories are inspirational. They seek no reward or recognition for their tremendous work, but NCEA is delighted to honor them and hold them up as beacons of hope for the future of our Catholic schools.

Our nearly 2 million Catholic school students are the reason we as Catholic educators and leaders work hard every single day. From the opening prayer to the closing prayer every school day, each of you as leaders in Catholic education, impart Catholic identity and guide students to love and serve others just as Jesus did. Our goal is not only to prepare our Catholic school students for this life, but to prepare them for the next life in heaven.

As leaders in Catholic education, we must continue to provide our children a faith-filled and top notch academic Catholic education by embracing new governance and learning models to provide cost effective and highly innovative education opportunities for parents who desire a Catholic education for their children.
